Now I’m sure all of you have heard of Avon, if you’re anything like me, you would have done some urmm-ing and ahh-ing at first, but I soon passed that stage when I decided to try out a handful of their goodies.
So first up is the Avon lip crayon in coral and as I don’t have this shade in my lip collection I was super excited to try it!
Without stating the obvious, I think this coral is just beautiful for the summer. I really like how it applies on to the lips – creamy, thick and build-able. Personally, I think all lip crayons are best applied with a heavy coat to get the bold colour your lips crave 😉 . This doesn’t finish in ultra matte as there’s some glitter and shine if you look closely, and when it’s smudged out you’ll realise how much there is! To my surprise it also stains heavily, I found that I needed to scrub the colour off and then wipe it away with a rough towel to remove all trace. All in all, I love this product and I would definitely pair this shade with a more natural and dewy face as I have below.
avon Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage Cream-to-Powder Foundation
I was intrigued by their foundations, especially this particular one as I’ve heard so many good reviews about it, so I wanted to see the results for myself. This foundation claims to be a three in one: concealer, foundation and powder, all of which it does well! Because it comes with a sponge inside, I really didn’t need any other tool as the product just glides smoothly onto the skin anyway. When applied, it dries to almost a matte finish with a silky and velvety feel. If I had to compare it to another foundation I’d say it wasn’t too far off Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse which I’m a big fan of!
Overall, I’d say it’s a great foundation for the day, it’s light and very easy to use. There’s no filter on these pictures, so what you see is what you get! When I swatched the foundation and rubbed it into my skin, it very easily disappears, absorbing well into the skin. It’s also quite visible to see what side of my face has foundation on without it looking TOO obvious. When I applied this product around my eye area, I felt that it was best to use my ring finger and pat gently to achieve best results. I still need to use translucent powder on top to set my base as I feel like it’s not completely oil-free as it’s supposed to be. Maybe I wouldn’t need to come autumn and winter…
ANEW Clinical Eye Lift Pro Dual Eye System
I’ve always been skeptical about eye creams just because I’ve never really found the right one for me, but then again I haven’t massively explored enough to know to be honest and at the same time I don’t like the thought of using some products at a younger age either – dilemmas! However, AVON managed to persuade me to go for their ANEW Clinical Eye Lift Pro. I opted for this one because it looked different to what I usually come across in stores.
On one side there is what you call the upper eye and brow bone gel, designed to boost elastin production. On the other side you have the under eye cream with derma-refine technology. This product claims to reduce dark circles and lift your appearance surrounding the eyes and I can say that I’ve definitely noticed a difference! When I first applied the product, I felt an instant tightening of my skin and it felt so good knowing that it was working straight away. It’s now been a couple of weeks since using the product and I’m glad to say that after a freshly washed face I can still feel those very same effects.
I own a fair amount of nail polishes, some of which are lying in my nail basket waiting to be opened! It’s a crazy obsession us girls have, we’ve all been to the shops drooling over shades we think we don’t have, only later to find out that we actually own a few of the same shades back at home! At only a few pounds, it was hard to resist this purchase. Personally, I really like the look of this on my nails, but I’ll leave you to judge!
AVON GLOW beach brights liquid eye liner
So onto the eyes and I went for another green!
This eye liner doesn’t come in a brush form, but more a sort of stick pen which I don’t really prefer. I found that I needed to add on a bit more colour to my eyes each time to fill in the gaps, however what I also found is that once the colour settled, it seemed like it really came together. I’m not wearing any mascara or heavy concealer above apart from the AVON foundation, so you can only imagine what it would look like with some more magic. Although, for summer days I would definitely tone down and go for my dewy look by putting this simple look together with my coral lips 🙂 .
Have you tried out any AVON products? If so, I’d love to hear more about it!
