Lately, I’m beginning to find that when I want to blog about something in particular there are a number of occurrences that happen in the same week that I need to tell you about too! But first, let me tell you about my Bank Holiday Monday…
Plans seem to be very last minute with me and so on Monday I spent most of the day at Bicester Village in Oxfordshire, I’ve always wanted to visit and experience what it’s all about. (For those who don’t know, Bicester Village is full of high end designer stores which are heavily discounted!)
It was a beautiful day so I decided to make the most of it….
I knew I should have taken a picture of my whole outfit! It was something I put together quickly, put in simple terms, I wore a bright yellow plain tee along with my favourite monochrome peg legged trousers. I accessorised them with a subtle floral print handbag and ruffle styled wedges. Although, the real icing on the cake was my nail and lip colour!
Eeek! This was probably the best look I’ve put together as the smaller details – bright pink lips, green pastel coloured nails and yellow top really made me look like a million dollars! I did originally want to go for the ombre look on the lips with Fuchsia Flash around the outer corner of my lips and the lighter Barry M shade in the centre, but instead I applied a full lip of Maybelline and blended Barry M into the middle. Not only did this give me a barbie coloured lip shade, but you can see the beautiful finish it leaves me with.
Have you ever tried wearing a few key brights along with a print? If not, try rummaging through your wardrobe and see what you can do, but remember too many prints will create a whole different look, so play this one cleverly..
Back to Bicester, I started the afternoon with a glass (or two) of Cosmopolitan from a nice restaurant called the Villandry Grand Cafe which seemed very popular and I could see why after tasting their food. I would definitely recommend this place if you fancy something a bit different and appetizing!
After heading over to a few shops, I didn’t really take to anything spectacular, but lucky for me I managed to find a store called The Cosmetics Company which sells various lines of makeup such as Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Clinique and MAC cosmetics. I could have spent a few hours browsing, but typically this doesn’t go down too well with certain male company…
The first thing I thought of was the need to add to my professional makeup kit, but I couldn’t find everything I needed and later found that the most popular products fly off the shelves instantly. Maybe I should have planned the journey for the early morning instead! Overall, I think the store is great for someone who needs to buy for themselves as you could definitely splash out if need be.
The MAC studio finish concealers were only £10 (£5 off the original retail price) so I decided to keep one for myself and one for my kit. For foundation, I usually wear Estee Lauder Double Wear, but I’m quite keen to experiment so I picked up the Superbalanced makeup by Clinique. I’m planning to blog about the results of the foundation so watch out for this in the near future 🙂 .
My first thoughts on Bicester weren’t as exciting as I hoped it would be, but hey, maybe I showed up at the wrong time. However, it was the perfect excuse to dress up, eat, drink and enjoy a lovely stroll in the weather!
Hope you enjoyed this post!
